ex =a former lover,a former spouse
意味: 元恋人、元カノ、元彼、元妻、元夫
このexには『前の』『元』『昔の』という意味があります。
exだけでも使われますが、元恋人=ex-lover 元カノ=ex-girlfriend 元彼=x-boydfriend 元妻=ex-wife 元夫=ex-husband と後にもとの関係性をいれて使う事も多いです。

- I still call my ex-girfriend because we're still friends.
僕はまだ元カノと電話で話すよ。だって僕らはまだ友達だし。 - I'm uncomfortable around my husband's ex-wife.
